Generating documents at scale is a critical task for many organizations that rely on Salesforce. Whether you’re preparing thousands of monthly statements, running bulk contract renewals, or sending mass communications, document generation needs to be fast, reliable, and seamless.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce High-Volume Generation, a new processing mode designed to dramatically improve performance and scalability for enterprise-grade document creation.

What is High-Volume Generation?

High-Volume Generation is a new option available to all Documents for Salesforce customers. It handles very large sets of records efficiently while still respecting Salesforce governor limits.

Key capabilities include:

  • Scalability: Process 20,000+ records per run without failure

  • Performance: Faster, bulk-optimized processing that reduces delays by up to 85% compared to batch mode

  • Flexibility: Adjustable batch sizes (1–200 records per batch) to suit both simple and complex mappings

When to Use High-Volume Generation

Choosing between Batch Mode and High-Volume Generation depends on your needs:

  • Use Batch Mode if you’re working with smaller workloads or simpler mappings. It’s a solid choice for organizations generating documents at a moderate scale.

  • Use High-Volume Generation when performance at scale is critical. It’s best suited for enterprise-level operations where document runs often exceed thousands of records.

Because the two modes are mutually exclusive, you’ll select one processing mode per Document Mapping.

Use Case: Daily Welcome Letters for New Customers

Consider a growing subscription business that’s onboarding thousands of new customers every day. Each new customer receives a personalized welcome letter with account details, onboarding resources, and tailored offers.

As the business expands, the daily volume of welcome letters quickly rises from a few dozen to several thousand. Under the batch approach, generating and delivering these letters could sometimes take an entire day.

With High-Volume Generation:

  • The company can configure batches of 100 records, optimized for their mapping.

  • Salesforce processes them in parallel, ensuring thousands of welcome letters are created within hours.

  • Each new customer receives their welcome communication on time, every day, without IT teams having to monitor or troubleshoot the process.

The result is a smoother onboarding experience, greater operational efficiency, and the ability to keep pace with rapid customer growth.

Getting Started

Enabling High-Volume Generation is simple:

  1. Open your Document Mapping in Salesforce.

  2. Under Optional Settings, select the High-Volume Generation checkbox.

  3. Adjust your batch size based on the complexity of your mapping (start conservatively at 50 records per batch and fine-tune as needed).

High-Volume Generation was designed with one goal in mind: to give Salesforce teams the speed and scalability they need for enterprise-level document automation. Whether you’re supporting thousands of patients, customers, or contracts, this new feature helps you run bulk processes with confidence.
